Community Partnership Brings Health and Wellness Fair to Good Samaritan Assisted Living Facility

In the spirit of community service, Sitara Grotto partnered with the Community Resource Medical Coalition to host a health and wellness fair at the Good Samaritan Assisted Living Facility. Held in Tower 1 from noon to 3 p.m., the event highlighted how grassroots partnerships can make a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable seniors.
Care, Connection, and Celebration
The fair was much more than a medical check-up—it was a celebration of care, dignity, and human connection. Sitara Grotto carried forward the mission of the Humanitarian Foundation by distributing toothbrushes, sharing health education, and helping orchestrate the event. Together, the organizations created an atmosphere that was as joyful as it was resourceful.
For three lively hours, the assisted living facility buzzed with activity. Residents and their families laughed, danced, asked questions, and found comfort in knowing that their well-being was at the center of the day. The sound of music mixed with conversation underscored a truth often forgotten: wellness is as much about community as it is about medicine.
Leaders with Heart
Event organizer Maricruz Rhucobo, Director of the Community Resource Coalition and co-organizer, reflected on the day’s success with pride.
“It’s wonderful to see the elderly smiling and having a good time dancing, getting haircuts, vaccinations, and information about their overall wellness,” she said. “These events are a great success, and we continue to look forward to many more opportunities to serve our community in partnership with Sitara Grotto.”

Mario Villa, owner of JMJ Home Healthcare Services and co-organizer, emphasized the growing community support.
“The enthusiasm of the community for these events is constantly increasing,” Villa noted. “It’s very rewarding to see how much change we can bring with just a little effort from all parts. This is why grassroots partnerships like this are so important.”
