Dr. of Smiles

​The Doctor of Smiles (Dr. of Smiles) is a pivotal role within the Grottoes International Humanitarian Foundation, dedicated to facilitating dental care for children with special needs. Each Grotto appoints a Dr. of Smiles to serve as the liaison between families, dental professionals, and the Humanitarian Foundation. Their primary responsibilities include:​

• Assisting Families: Guiding parents or legal guardians through the application process for the Dental Care for Children with Special Needs Program, ensuring all necessary forms are accurately completed and submitted. 

• Coordinating with Dental Professionals: Maintaining communication with dentists to facilitate the provision of approved dental treatments and ensuring that care aligns with the program’s guidelines. ​

• Monitoring Treatment Progress: Keeping track of the child’s dental care journey, addressing any concerns that may arise, and ensuring continuous support throughout the treatment process. ​

For the current year, Sitara Grotto is honored to have Prophet Avi Nash serving as our Dr. of Smiles. Prophet Nash is committed to upholding the mission of bringing “Special Smiles” to children with special needs by facilitating access to essential dental care services. His dedication ensures that families receive the support they need, and that children benefit from the compassionate care envisioned by the Humanitarian Foundation.
